Welcome to the Shattuck!
The Shattuck Child Care Center is a non-profit, independent early education center that has served working families in Boston since its establishment in 1969. The Center is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care for the care of 48 children, ages 15 months to six years old, and is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of parents, teachers, and community members.
After being part of the campus of the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital for almost 50 years, the Center has found a new home in the First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain. While we no longer have a direct relationship with the employees of the Shattuck Hospital, we remain intensely committed to our mission of providing high-quality early education to working families of all income levels. We offer a sliding scale tuition and welcome state childcare vouchers for low-income families.
For decades the Shattuck Child Care Center has grown and adapted, keeping constant our dedication to understanding and meeting the needs of the children and families we serve. We are excited to explore what new opportunities may arise from our new location, while still maintaining the heart and soul of our beloved program.
